The Impact Method
My reading intervention services are designed to transform struggling readers, spellers, and writers into confident and capable students.
I start with a detailed assessment of your child’s unique needs, then create a personalized plan to address the gaps that are holding them back. Once intervention begins, most families can expect to see a grade level’s worth of growth in about 16 weeks. Each intervention session is driven by data and focuses on the specific needs of each child.
I use a structured literacy approach that is explicit, systematic and cumulative. Learning is hands-on, engaging, and fun.

What is the difference between a reading tutor and a reading interventionist?
In short, tutoring is designed to help students keep up and intervention is designed to help students catch up.
Tutors help students understand content taught in class, complete homework, and assist with test preparation. They typically work with students on a short-term basis to reinforce school-based learning.
Interventionists use diagnostic tools to identify foundational skill gaps and create specially designed instruction to strategically remediate gaps and drive long-term student transformation.
How do I know if my child needs reading intervention?
If your child reads slowly, struggles to comprehend text, has trouble remembering words they have seen many times before, avoids reading aloud, guesses unfamiliar words, struggles to spell words correctly or expresses frustrations during reading and writing tasks, they may need reading intervention. If your child is one or more grade levels behind, has weak executive functioning skills or has a diagnoses of a language or learning disability, reading intervention services are critical.
